Imendi Gofio Mill
Our history
Heritage, technique and passion
One family, one mill, and more than two decades grinding Canarian tradition with respect for the past and a look to the future.
Chapter 01
The origin: San Sebastián de La Gomera
The Imendi Gofio Mill was founded in 2002 in San Sebastián de La Gomera, born from a family's passion for perpetuating the tradition of Canarian gofio. On an island where time seems to stand still between mountains and ocean, we decided to honor the ancestral food that has nourished generations.

Chapter 02
Growth without losing the essence
We started with a small mill, roasting each grain with absolute dedication. The aroma of the roasted corn and wheat filled every corner, and the sound of the millstones turning set our work rhythm.
With time and the recognition of those who valued an authentic product, we continued to grow. But our promise never changed: an honest, handcrafted product full of flavor, made with the same love as the first day.

Chapter 03
Imendi: the mountain that inspires us
Imendi means "mountain" in the Berber language, the cultural roots that arrived in the Canary Islands centuries ago. It is a symbol of strength, permanence, and connection to the land.
Like the majestic mountains of La Gomera rising from the Atlantic, our gofio represents strength, tradition, and the unique landscape that inspires us every day. A name that speaks of deep roots and broad horizons.
Chapter 04
Commitment to La Gomera and the Canary Islands
We are deeply committed to sustainability, local development and the preservation of the Canary Islands' food heritage.
We work hand in hand with local farmers, support La Gomera's circular economy, and teach new generations the value of this unique food. Every sack of gofio that leaves our mill carries with it a piece of our island and its ancient culture.
Our values
What defines us every day
We are a family united by our love for gofio and our respect for traditions. Each member of the team contributes their knowledge, from those who inherited ancestral techniques to those who incorporate respectful innovation.
Our hands are the ones that roast, grind, and package each product. We work together, share the same vision, and are proud to bring Imendi gofio to homes throughout the Canary Islands and beyond.
Recognitions and awards
Over the years, we have received multiple awards in official gofio competitions, guaranteeing the quality and authenticity of our products.
Every award is a source of pride, but true recognition comes when our customers return, when Canarian families choose our gofio for their tables, when someone tries it for the first time and discovers the authentic taste of La Gomera.
"Each grain tells a story. Each milling is a tribute to those who taught us."
